Katy Perry's 'Part Of Me' Leaks Online
Uptempo pop-rock tune is reportedly lifted from singer's Teenage Dream recording sessions.

Just a few weeks ago, Katy Perry confessed that she was ready to take her relationship with Russell Brand to the next level by taking his last name. Despite the amorous stage in her life, the pop star appears strong, bold and just a tad resentful after a breakup on the previously unheard pop-rock song "Part of Me," which surfaced on the Internet on Wednesday.
With reported production by pop mastermind Dr. Luke, the song has Perry declaring herself unbreakable after an ugly breakup, singing, "Days like this I want to drive away/ Pack my bags and watch your shadow fade/ 'Cause you chewed me up and spit me out/ Like I was poison in your mouth/ You took my light, you drink me down/ That was then and this is now, now look at me."
Similar to the pop star's hit single "California Gurls," the tune's steady beat amplifies as the chorus opens. "This is the part of me/ That you're never gonna ever take away from me/ Throw your sticks in the stones/ Throw your palms in your clothes/ But you're not gonna break my soul/ This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me," she sings.
"Part of Me" is rumored to be a leftover cut from the singer's Teenage Dream recording sessions. However, fans have speculated that the track may be included in a yet-to-be-confirmed re-release of the Grammy-nominated LP.
In addition to the new material, fans can rejoice in yet another Perry tune, "E.T.," as online reports have indicated that the futuristic song has been selected as the pop star's next single. Despite multiple live performances of the song, Perry took to Twitter to ask her legion of fans which track they'd like the singer to release next. "Thanks for all your great suggestions for the next single today!" she tweeted on December 13. "Your voice has been heard! We're on the same page..."

Jon Gosselin Tries, Fails to Stop Kate Plus 8 Australian Adventure
Jon Gosselin really doesn't want his kids on TV anymore.
Some have questioned his motives, but he seems intent on living a normal life these days and for his eight offspring to experience the same thing.
That said, he went to court to stop Kate Gosselin from dragging them to Australia, but was denied by a judge because the excursion is work related.
Once again, Jon and Kate don't see eye to eye.
The same judge allowed Kate Gosselin to film her spin-off reality TV show, Kate Plus 8, on TLC in the first place, despite vehement objections by Jon.
“This was yet another slap in the face for Jon because he did not want the kids to go to Australia," a source close to Jon Gosselin told Radar Online.
“But the judge ruled that because it was for work it was okay. Jon had plans with the kids. Now he won't see them until they return in mid-January."
"He was scheduled to have them this weekend, but there was nothing he could do as the decision was taken out of his hands by the judge."
“Kate told Jon about the trip, and when he did not agree it was decided that the judge should intervene and the ruling went in her favor."
“He is trying to put a brave face on and has explained the situation to his own family and friends, but this is a big disappointment for him."
“But if nothing else, they all respect him for trying to stand up to Kate and for fighting for what he thinks is right for his kids as well.”
Fresh off goin' camping with Sarah Palin in Alaska, Kate flew to Australia with her eight kids, plus body guard Steve Nield, on Tuesday.
The Gosselin crew will also visit New Zealand, and during the excursion they will shoot tons of footage for future episodes of Kate Plus 8.
As for Jon's plans tonight?
“It is most likely that he will be staying in Pennsylvania to be with his girlfriend Ellen Ross plus family and friends as they ring in 2011."
Sounds normal at least.

The February 11 release of John Chu's 3-D doc "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" is fast approaching, and in addition to the Biebs' many tweets about the flick, we now have another glimpse at what it has in store for eager fans. A new clip from the film shows how Bieber's talent for drums surfaced at a young age. It's also full of more cute Bieber baby videos.
"He never had any lessons or anything. I just never thought of it being anything other than for fun," Bieber's mother, Pattie Malette, says in the clip.
Bieber's drum collection quickly expanded from a handheld drum to a mini drum kit, and eventually, his family friends held a benefit concert and raised enough money to buy the young prodigy his own set of Pearl drums.
The 16-year-old pop star made waves at the 2010 VMAs when he rocked out on the drums during his amplified set. He also showed off his skills on the skins at the 2009 Jingle Ball in Sacramento, where he played an impressive drum solo during Cobra Starship's performance. Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, who had been trying to challenge Bieber to a dance off, tweeted after the fact, "Justin Bieber smoked me hard tonight. He couldn't win the dance off. But he shredded a gnarly drum solo. I back this kid on the real. Legit."
Bieber wouldn't be the first artist to start out behind the kit before his vocal capabilities propelled him to the spotlight. He joins the powerful ranks of drummers-turned-singers such as Dave Grohl, Phil Collins, Karen Carpenter, Ringo Starr and Tommy Lee.

Celebrities aren’t like the rest of us, clearly. The don’t have to be stuck, teeth chattering, in blizzards. When the weather gets rough, they get going to warmer, more decadent destinations. Of course, you have to have the body to loll about in itsy bikins. But that’s just another one of the gazillion reasons why they’re famous, and we’re just jealous.
While going, enviously, through holiday photographs, we realized that the place to be right now, ringing in the New Year, is Los Cabos in Mexico. Especially if you’re a dude, because sunning themselves there currently, at uber-schmancy digs, are Cindy Crawford, Molly Sims, Bar Refeali and Elisabetta Canalis. Extortion Case Against Oksana Grigorieva Looking Thinner Than Expected
Mel Gibson claims Oksana Grigorieva tried to extort him, and despite what a shady character she is, proving that claim is proving difficult.
The investigation of Gibson's accusations that his former flame and the mother of his daughter tried to extort him is weak, reports indicate.
"It's looking more and more like no crime was committed by Ms. Grigorieva," a well placed source with knowledge of the situation says.
Is Oksana Grigorieva about to be let off the hook?
The troubled actor is being investigated for domestic violence against Oksana Grigorieva, a separate investigation also nearing its end.
Mel Gibson and his attorney, Blair Berk, met with officials to discuss what they believe was deliberate extortion on the part of Oksana.
But it looks like actual evidence is thinner than Lindsay Lohan.
"There is simply no smoking gun against Oksana," the source said. "There are emails which Gibson's camp say is clearly extortion."
But those emails can also be viewed in the context of an ongoing negotiation between Mel and Oksana regarding custody of Lucia.
That makes it tougher to prove extortion, the sources say.
Oksana was represented by a very well regarded lawyer, Eric George and walked away from the large settlement she tried to procure, said the well-placed source, noting complications in any potential criminal case against Oksana.
Extortion is always hard to prove, especially if the person being accused was already repped by a lawyer and in a custody dispute.
Unless you're the idiot who tried to bilk David Letterman and make it beyond obvious, it's very tough to make the charge stand up.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department hasn't officially handed over the extortion case to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

Usher, Ke$ha And More Help Dance Music Go Pop In 2010
But is it here to stay? Our music-industry experts weigh in.

In 2010, pop princesses, R&B icons and chart-dominating newcomers all danced to the same beat. Not only did dance music go pop, but pop music caught the club-music bug.
Between Katy Perry's "Firework," Ke$ha's "We R Who We R," Rihanna's "Only Girl (In the World)," Enrique Iglesias' "I Like It," Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" and "OMG" and countless other singles, established artists definitely looked to dance beats for surefire hits. And two of this year's biggest success stories in music were Jason Derülo and Taio Cruz; could there be a soul left in this country who hasn't heard "Dynamite" or "In My Head"?
The love went both ways, with dance music's biggest stars finding mainstream success this year. Dance-music maestro deadmau5 took up house-artist duties at this year's VMAs, and Swedish House Mafia and Usher teamed up for a medley of their gems at the American Music Awards.
So how did this happen? We caught up with some music-industry experts to get their takes.
"You definitely saw tempos go up this year," Jon Caramanica of The New York Times told MTV News. "And I think what you had are a lot of producers who are really familiar with nightclub stuff. They are familiar with Europe. Things are happening on a more global scale now."
"I think everything from Europe, and sometimes even Asia, it comes to America, and we just adopt things a little bit slower," said Jared Eng of JustJared.com. "I think it was just a change. People like different types of music at different times. And dance was of this moment."
Noah Callahan of Complex magazine added: "I think 2010 saw the merging of the pop and dance genres. Pop artists realized that there were best practices that could be borrowed from dance music. And, ultimately, [all] pop music that has been made in the past 20 years had ended up being remixed for the club by dance artists. I think they basically just cut out the middleman and went straight there."
Dance music being introduced into the hip-hop and R&B realms was particularly notable this year.
"I think David Guetta kind of at the end of last year and the beginning of this year spearheaded it," said freelance writer Julianne Escobedo Shepherd. "He produced a lot of tracks. I think as trends go, people revile 'unst-unst.' But it's just coming back around. Big-room techno was a way for people to get decadent in a year that no one could get decadent."
"You have someone like will.i.am, who's like, 'Well, I spent all this time in Ibiza, and this is what they are doing,' and he wants to find a way to bring that into his music," Caramanica said of the Black Eyed Peas mastermind. "R&B especially became dance music. And especially with your Jason Derülos, Taio Cruzes. Guys like that would have literally been blocked at the border two years ago. That would not have made it through customs. And now all of a sudden they have #1 songs. I think will.i.am had a lot to do with that last year."
Elliott Wilson of RapRadar.com added: "It's actually even affected hip-hop. I was talking to Q-Tip, and his next record, I feel like that's gonna kind of go in that vein. I know that was also Jay-Z's thought process with Blueprint 3 at first, that he wanted to make a little bit more of a world music [vibe], a little more dancey. I think the kids today want to go to the clubs. They wanna have a good time. They wanna dance. So I think the artists of today are trying to kind of feed that audience."
"I think it's caught on this year because the people who've done it have been successful," offered Clover Hope of Vibe magazine. "Like 'OMG,' with usher, he didn't have success until he made a dance record. He had 'There Goes My Baby' and these really, like, adult-contemporary records that didn't really catch on. And then once you see that everybody is doing it and that people are liking it, they are like, 'OK, let me just try this out.' It's like Auto-Tune. Like, 'Let me see what I sound like on a record by David Guetta.' They end up liking it and doing more of it."
So does the club-music trend have staying power. According to our tastemakers, not so much.
"I do think it's a blip," Caramanica said. "I don't think that's gonna be something that lasts in America. I think this is gonna be a moment we'll all look back on and go, 'Wasn't that weird when Jason Derülo and Taio Cruz had #1 records?"
"At some point, these R&B artists will get kind of sick of it and be like, 'Let me go back to my soul background,' " Hope said. "When you actually have to say something, dance doesn't really lend itself to substance. And I think that R&B artists, they really want to talk about love and in a deep way, and to do that, you need to do, like, a soul or a traditional R&B record. I want to say that it's kind of a fad."
"I think music is very cyclical," Eng offered. "So I think dance music might be here for a little bit, but I'm sure it will phase out at some point."
Wilson called dance music "the sound of today. I think that people want more aggressive, faster beats, and I think that that probably has legs until at least next summer."

Christmas Day was more than just a festive holiday for Elton John, as he and his husband, David Furnish, welcomed their first child, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. The monumental occasion puts the iconic singer into a league of fellow gay celebrities who have ventured into the world of parenthood.
Take a look at these other gay stars-turned-fathers:
Ricky Martin
Martin didn't officially come out until earlier this year, but the Latin pop star started a family a few years ago. In August 2008, the singer became a proud father of twin boys, Matteo and Valentino Martin, who were born via a surrogate. In an interview with People, the former Menudo member revealed that fatherhood "has been the most spiritual moment in my life."
Neil Patrick Harris
With just a 140-character Twitter message, the "How I Met Your Mother" star announced to the world that he and longtime partner David Burtka were expecting twins. Just a few months later, the Emmy-winning actor took to the social-networking site again to reveal the arrival of Gideon Scott and Harper Grace with the help of a surrogate. Prior to the twins' birth, Harris researched his role as a future father, admitting to People, "I'm trying to read as much as I can, and prep as much as I can. But there's only so much you can do because each baby is super individual and totally their own person."
Clay Aiken
While his sexuality had always been speculated about, Clay didn't come out until the arrival of his son, Parker Foster Aiken, in 2008. Earlier that year, it had been reported that the former "American Idol" contestant had artificially inseminated friend and music producer Jaymes Foster. Wong and his longtime partner, Richie Jackson, suffered a setback in their road to fatherhood when the couple lost one of their newborn twins 90 minutes after birth. The twin boys were born 11 weeks premature through a surrogate mother with Wong's sperm and an egg donated by Jackson's sister. One of the boys, Jackson Foo Wong, survived and inspired the actor to write a memoir called "Following Foo."
