Demi Lovato Thanks Her Fans, Is Spotted Out And About In Illinois

Despite the fact that she’s still in rehab, Demi Lovato’s career is doing better than most people’s, a success the singer credits to her support from fans. After winning at the People?s Choice Awards last week for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and a guest spot on Grey?s Anatomy, Lovato thanked her fans via Facebook.� “I wish to thank all the friends and fans who voted for me for the People’s Choice Awards and the Hot Hits Hottest Teen Stars of 2010. I want to make sure my fans know how thankful I am for all their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you for standing beside me through it all,” Lovato wrote. That is so sweet for Demi to write a thank-you message, though to be fair we imagine she has a lot of time on her hands right now.
Not that it?s all group therapy and no play for Lovato in rehab, as rumors that Demi has been spotted out in Illinois suggest the singer is able to take good behavior trips as her treatment continues. “Yea just was at target and Demi Levato was there? We asked to take pics but she said no?,” a surprised fan tweeted last Friday. No word yet on whether Lovato will be released to shoot Sunny With A Chance Of, which begins filming the week of January 30. “Everybody is really excited that Demi is still resting, taking time to relax, so I applaud her in that regard. When we start filming again, I’m sure everything will be back to normal,” says Sunny castmate Brandon Mychal Smith. Given that Demi went into rehab and actually stayed there (unlike many celebs we know), we have no doubt it will.

Demi Lovato Thanks Fans for People's Choice Wins

While she wasn't able to attend the People's Choice Awards due to her ongoing treatment, Demi Lovato made sure to voice her appreciation over winning two awards.

The Disney star took to Facebook to thank her many fans, writing, "I wish to thank all the friends and fans who voted for me for the People's Choice Awards and the Hot Hits Hottest Teen Stars of 2010."

The 18-year-old continued, "I want to make sure my fans know how thankful I am for all their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you for standing beside me through it all."

As for her People's Choice honors, Lovato was selected as Favorite TV Guest Star (Grey's Anatomy) and Favorite Family TV Movie (Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam).

Are Miley Cyrus And Nick Jonas Recording A Duet Album?

Cyrus producer Shakur Green reportedly tweets that the exes are working on a joint LP.

In 2009, Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus released the breakup ballad "Before the Storm." The track, which was recorded after the two had split and right before they briefly reconciled, was featured on the Jonas Brothers album Lines, Vines and Trying Times. Now, it seems that the duo might be trying to make that magic happen again.

Music producer Shakur Green, who worked with Cyrus on her Time of Our Lives EP, tweeted that he's heading into the studio to work with the teen stars. "Returning to the studio w/ Miley Cyrus & Nick Jonas on 1/14," he wrote in tweets posted on the AnythingDisney blog, which gained access to the producer's protected Twitter account.

"Can't release any additional information about the project other then it's going to be one of the top albums of 2011," he added. "We're only recording 7-10 records. She has other producers she working with besides myself!"

Although he kept the details somewhat scarce, he did reveal one major piece to the puzzle: "I will share this info: It's going to be a double disk duet album!"

A rep for the stars hadn't responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time.

Cyrus did join the boys onstage for one show in June 2009 to play "Before the Storm." At the time, when MTV News caught up with Nick, he expressed how much he really loved the song. " 'Before the Storm' is probably one of my favorite songs on the record," Nick said. "I think it's probably one of my favorite songs because it has a great story to it. It's a duet with Miley, which is great."

Aretha Franklin Speaks Out About Having Cancer

We’ve all been concerned and waiting to hear updates about Aretha Franklin ever since she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She had surgery for her condition late last year and had released a hopeful statement during her recovery which read, “The surgery was highly successful. God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country. God bless you all for your prayers!”
Aretha’s latest interview with JET has been more revealing (in a manner of speaking) about how she’s been coping with the situation. She’s definite in not divulging personal details but succinctly says her condition has been “resolved”. She explained, “I am not going to even deal with that. I don?t have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors. The problem has been resolved.” She refused to discuss her personal life, stating, “I am not one to do a lot of talking about my personal health or business. Not too much, not too much. There are a lot of people who will talk about anything, as long as there is somebody listening. But I am not one of those people. That?s not Aretha.”
With all this privacy shrouding her responses she did want to send out a proper message to her fans. Aretha capped off the interview with gratitude towards them saying, “I know my fans are concerned. Let them know I am feeling great and coming along.I want to thank my fans and friends and supporters who have prayed for me and sent me beautiful cards and flowers. Please continue to respect my privacy as I continue to recover.” We wish her our best.

Notorious B.I.G. Murder Investigation 'Reinvigorated'

New information has rebooted still-unsolved killing of Bad Boy rapper, sources say.

It's been 13 years since the unsolved murder of legendary rapper Notorious B.I.G. (born Christopher Wallace). Despite several theories about who gunned down the 24-year-old Bad Boy rapper in his prime outside the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on the night of March 9, 1997, police have never arrested a suspect in the case or announced a credible triggerman in the murder that shocked the hip-hop world.

But now, according to CNN, investigators are back on the cold case thanks to the formation of a task force made up of members of the Los Angeles Police Department, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office and the FBI. An anonymous law enforcement source close to the investigation told CNN that the case was "reinvigorated" several months ago thanks to some new information.

For now, though, that information is not being revealed because it is part of the ongoing investigation by the local and national task forces. A spokesperson for the L.A. County District Attorney's office declined to comment on the CNN report.

Police have long known that a lone gunman in a Chevy Impala pulled up alongside the Suburban that was carrying Biggie and opened fire, striking the rapper, who was sitting in the passenger seat. The shooter was described by witnesses as being an African-American male wearing a suit and bowtie.

The murder reignited rumors that it was tied to an alleged East Coast/ West Coast beef between New York's Bad Boy Entertainment, led by Sean "Diddy" Combs, and the West Coast-based Death Row Records, then headed by oft-arrested CEO Marion "Suge" Knight. It was a tragic bookend to the murder six months earlier of Death Row's Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in a crime that is also still unsolved.

Retired Los Angeles Police Detective Russell Poole worked on the Wallace case and he told CNN he believes that Death Row's Knight was behind the killing; Knight was behind bars on a probation violation at the time. "Suge Knight ordered the hit," Poole said, fingering Death Row security chief Reggie Wright Jr. as the man who arranged the hit.

Wright Jr. told CNN he had nothing to do with the murder, and Knight has repeatedly said the same. Poole said he retired from the force early because he felt like his investigation was being hampered by some fellow LAPD officers who worked off-duty for Death Row.

"I think I was getting too close to the truth," Poole said. "I think they feared that the truth would be a scandal." One of the men Poole believed was involved was former LAPD officer David Mack, who was sent to prison in 1997 for robbing a bank. According to Poole, Mack owned the same type of car driven by the gunman and a friend of the ex-officer's resembled a police sketch of the shooter. Mack's attorney dismissed the claims when they first surfaced nearly a decade ago; Mack was released from federal prison on May 14, 2010.

A representative for Wallace's mother, Voletta, who has been adamant about finding her son's killer, declined to comment on the investigation. Her attorney told CNN that a re-filing of a wrongful death suit against the LAPD was put on hold in April after Los Angeles police said turning over evidence would interfere with their re-launched investigation.

Reb'l Fleur: Rihanna to Release Signature Scent

Reb'l Fleur, the first fragrance to bear the name and likeness of pop superstar Rihanna, will be available to the smelly public at large January 25.

RiRi's perfume, which came about thanks to a deal brokered by manager Jay-Z, is curiously described as "like heels with a short, flirty dress."

It's a fruity mix of red berries, plum, peach, coconut water, violet and Hawaiian hibiscus, in reflection of Rihanna's tropical roots. Obviously.

Next up for Rihanna? A line of hair products. We wish.

As for its fun name, the scent shares it with a tattoo the pop star bears on her neck, although which came first is still up for debate at this time.

Whatever it means, Reb'l Fleur will first available at Macys for $49 a pop.

For her next scent, we suggest "Only Girl in the World" or "Hard" as good names. They get the point across, and have built-in theme songs:

Jane Krakowski: Expecting First Child

She?s most known her for her comedic role on NBC?s ?30 Rock? and now Jane Krakowski is going to be a mother.

A rep for the Jenna Maroney actress confirmed that she is expecting her first child with clothing designer fiance Robert Godley.

Speaking with Us Magazine, the rep told, "Both soon-to-be first-time parents could not be happier."

The 42-year-old was recently spotted showing off her cute baby bump in a black bathing suit while vacationing in the Caribbean.

Rielle Hunter: NOT Engaged to John Edwards

Rielle Hunter and John Edwards are not engaged.

Despite a report this week that John put a ring on it, "the reports are false and he is not engaged," a family spokesperson said earlier today.

Sheesh. How dare people assume an upstanding individual like John would ever pull such a move. It's not like he's some cad who cheated on his terminally ill wife and knocked up Rielle Hunter while running for U.S. President. Oh, wait ...

NOT ENGAGED: John Edwards, Rielle Hunter and their young daughter Quinn may be together someday, but not today. Check back this time next week.

Edwards' affair became public knowledge after he was busted in 2008. He denied their child was his until over a year later when he was busted again.

The disgraced former U.S. Senator's estranged wife, Elizabeth Edwards, passed away last month at age 61 after a long struggle with breast cancer.

At least she cut him out of her will at the last minute.
